Finding the right person who matches happens. Then the problem is that after the romance, there is the everyday life, and everyday life is full of stress and obstacles and challenges. Self motivations, self achievements, goals..etc. People by nature are selfish and take care of themselves primarily, and when stress hits, and the other person is kind of in the way, then there is little patience with the other, and hence arguments happen. Compromise unfortunately, I believe is necessary, cause no one in the world is exactly like me or you. And to be happy and together in a relationship some compromise is necessary. No "perfect" person is out there, cause we all have flaws. Some core values like honesty, trust, loyalty, respect, kindness, love, should never be compromised. People including myself are just way to demanding of others to suit "my" needs. I am learning to try focus on giving without expectations in return, and trying to unconditionally love, and take a step back when I am proud and angry and try to bridge the gap.
